China CJ19 Series Capacitor Switching Contactors 380V 50/60Hz Suppliers, Supplier

The CJ19 series switching capacitor contactor operates in AC 50Hz or 60Hz circuits up to 380V. This device features a specialized inrush current suppressing device to reduce closing surges and suppress over-voltage during breaking. A double-deck contact system with upper limiting contacts and resistors ensures safe capacitor pre-charging. Ideal for low-voltage reactive power compensation equipment, it protects parallel capacitors from high impact currents. The unit supports screw or DIN rail installation. Suitable for industrial power factor correction applications requiring reliable switching performance.

Features

The contactor is direct-action type with double-break contact construction. Its system is divided into two layers: upper and lower. In the upper layer, there is an inrush current suppression device composed of three pairs of precharge contacts and a closing resistor. When the switch is closed, the device is first engaged, then after several milliseconds, the working contacts are engaged. The permanent magnetic latch of the precharge contacts is released by spring reaction, and the closing resistor is bypassed, so the capacitor operates normally. Contactors of 12, 18, 20kvar have two pairs of auxiliary contacts, and contactors of 30kvar have three pairs of auxiliary contacts.

Terminals of the contactors are protected by insulation covers, making them safe and reliable to use. Voltage data is marked at the terminals to avoid wrong connections. 12, 18, 20kvar contactors can be mounted not only by screws but also by clipping the bottom sliders onto 35mm standard tracks. On the front screen, there is a rectangular white plate which can be torn off. Users can print the item code on this plate.

Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)

How does the inrush current suppression mechanism operate?

The contactor utilizes an upper-layer suppression system with three pairs of precharge contacts and closing resistors. Upon energization, the precharge contacts engage first to absorb initial transient currents. Milliseconds later, the main working contacts close, and the precharge contacts release via spring reaction to bypass the resistors, allowing normal capacitor operation.

What is the peak transient surge suppression capability?

The CJ19 series contactor possesses the capability to suppress capacitor switch-on inrush current (flashy flow) up to 20 times the rated operational current (20Ie).

What mounting options are available for these contactors?

Contactors rated at 12, 18, and 20 kvar provide dual installation versatility: they can be mounted using standard screws or clipped directly onto 35mm standard DIN rails via bottom sliders.

What auxiliary contacts are configured with each model?

Models rated for 12, 18, and 20 kvar are equipped with two pairs of auxiliary contacts, whereas larger 30 kvar units feature three pairs of auxiliary contacts to suit broader control requirements.

What fuse specifications are recommended for short-circuit protection?

For 400V capacitor main circuits, RT19-type cylindrical fuses sized between 1.5 to 2.5 times the rated current (Ie) are recommended. For control circuits operating below 500V, RT19-type 16A gF fuses are suggested.

Which coil control voltages can be specified?

Standard options include 24V, 36V, 48V, 110V, 127V, 220V, 380V, 415V, 550V, and 660V AC (50Hz), customizable according to network voltage requirements.
